My Music Journey
Making music has been my favorite outlet to get out of my head ever since I started singing and songwriting at 14. It allows me to feel deeply, express all parts of myself, and experience a stillness in my soul—no matter what’s going on around me.
After graduating as a vocalist from the Conservatory of Rotterdam, I took my journey further and began exploring music production. Learning the ins and outs of production has been a journey full of ups and downs (with the occasional urge to throw my laptop out the window ;))—but it’s also been rewarding.
Since 2019, I’m proud to say that I’ve released music independently every year. My songs blend R&B elements with electronic sounds, some house vibes, and always a pop catchiness that gets stuck in your head.
To get my songs over the finish line, I often collaborate with other amazing producers like Simon Poort and Paul Hooper, whose skills in arranging, mixing and mastering help bring my music to the next level.
The WHATTHEFOCUS Podcast
Have you ever lost hours of your day to scrolling and then thought: “What the f*** just happened to my time?”
Well, same! Let’s be real—staying focused on a creative path is hard. The world we live in is packed with algorithms that are designed to keep us hooked to our screens, binging and scrolling our lives away.
So, that’s where the idea for WHATTHEFOCUS came from.
This podcast is my way of exploring how to stay true to your creativity in a world full of noise. I share my own struggles with staying focused, balancing my artistic vision and the pressure to “market” myself online. It’s about finding ways to focus on what really matters—creating over consuming, living authentically, and actually enjoying the creative process.
