The Full Story

My Journey As A Multi-Passionate Creator

If singer, songwriter, music producer, copywriter, marketer, blogger, & podcaster already sounds like a lot…

Well, there’s more to the story!

It All Started With An Acting Dream

As a kid, it was my big dream to become an actress and presenter. I took theatre classes religiously and went to Amsterdam every week to audition for commercials, movies, and TV shows.

I even sent a tape to MTV when I was 12 years old applying to become a VJ. (Don’t you just love the confidence of a 12 year old?!)

They sent me a gentle rejection letter that I was maybe a tiiiiny bit too young. But that I should definitely keep going. Aww.

Eventually, I was cast for my first big commercial and magazine shoot in Germany at 14 years old. Since it paid pretty well, my mom encouraged me to buy something worthwhile from the money.

And so I did!

I bought an electronic piano which kickstarted my singing & songwriting journey.

Fun fact: I still use this same piano 20+ years later. Best buy ever!

Singing, Songwriting & Producing My Own Music

After gaining a bit more confidence in my voice, I started switching from acting to music.

The theatre lessons became singing lessons, I started playing in bands and fell in love with the stage in a whole new way.

Eventually I went all-in and studied vocals professionally at the Conservatory of Rotterdam for 4 years. A great experience where I learned a lot, and was also insecure a lot. (I’m a perfectionist in recovery.)

After graduating I knew what I wanted: learn how to write and produce my own songs. But transitioning from singing to producing doesn’t exactly happen overnight.

So I asked myself: what other fun thing can I do to make a living while I develop my production skills on the side?

From Hobby Journaling To Professional Copywriter

In 2014, I stumbled upon Marie Forleo’s B-School and fell in love with online marketing.

I realized that that thing I do every morning for fun (writing in my diary) is something I can help others with! And so my journey as a professional copywriter began.

The best part? I got to live in Singapore from 2015 to 2017 working as a Copywriter & Content Manager for a startup. Unexpected, but pretty cool!

Since then, I’ve worked for a variety of amazing online businesses writing sales pages, ads, emails, blog posts and more. Curious? Read more about how I can help you.

That Multi-Passionate Life Be Like

Throughout my copywriting career, I’ve always kept working on my music skills. And I’m proud to say I’ve released self-produced music every year since 2019.

I’ve also learned that I’m happiest when I spend my days doing a mix of both. Helping awesome, heartfelt businesses with their online marketing, as well as expressing my creativity and emotions through music.

Plus, I love sharing my life lessons about all things creativity, mindset, authenticity, and more through my blog and podcast.

Fun Facts

  • I have a weird obsession with the Myers-Briggs test and I love trying to guess people’s types based on their energy. I’m an ENFJ myself, in case you’re wondering ;-) (most likely, you weren’t wondering!)

  • When I was a kid I also briefly thought I was going to be an astronaut. I loved all things space! Turns out, I have precisely 0 talent for math and physics so that didn’t work out.

  • Okay, not the typical fun fact, but I consider it quite fun that I’ve healed the majority of my anxiety, including panic attacks, that I had in my teens and twenties. Making music is a big ally on my path of getting out of my head (where anxiety lives) and back into my body.
